    Default job background
    Description

Potential Development Posts**We have two vacancies for Clinical or Counselling Psychologists in Gloucestershire within our Older People's Mental Health Services based Tewkesbury and Gloucester.

These posts are offered at a band 8a but we would consider appointing at a band 7 as a developmental role.

The work in both localities will involve inputting to the Community Mental Health (CMHT) and Memory Assessment Service (MAS) teams.

These teams are well established, friendly and value input from psychology.

You will be joining a team of psychologists working with older people across Gloucestershire, all embedded within multi-disciplinary teams but working closely together to continuously improve service provision.

We are a strong, stable and well-regarded service comprising a Consultant Lead Psychologist, seven Psychologists and a number of Assistants .

We meet regularly for CPD, clinical and professional supervision and to work on joint service development and training projects.

There are good links with the Clinical Psychology Training Course at Bath University and psychologists in the service input to the Older Adult teaching programme, have trainees on placement and contribute to the selection process.

You will bring a strong interest in working with older people and their families and will be committed to the principles of person-centred and psychologically informed service delivery.

The role requires an adaptable, flexible, resilient, hard-working team member who has excellent organisational skills and the ability to use their own initiative.

We welcome discussion/applications both from those with the relevant experience and HCPC registration, and also from those who are about to qualify / have more recently completed training.

(In the latter case we would discuss amendments to role with a view to appointing at Band 7.)

At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS.

The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

Our Staff Survey results showed people at our Trust feel they are engaged, part of a team and work for a compassionate and inclusive organisation.

Our overall scores were better than average in eight of nine themes and level in one - the best overall results for a community, mental health and learning disabilities Trust in the south west and first equal amongst all sector NHS providers within the region too.

Gloucestershire Health and Care is committed to embedding and providing personalised care through all of its services as part of our high-quality care strategy.

The purpose of personalised care is to empower people to lead the lives they want to live. Personalised care starts with a conversation with people about what matters to them. It builds on what people can do, as well as addressing their health needs.

Including new ways of working and delivering care, emphasising that we need to make effective use of the full range of our peoples skills and experience to deliver the best possible patient care.

The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
