    Role description:


    We are looking for an experienced Associate Procurement Director to join our Highways Consultancy team based in either the North, Midlands, or the London/South-east (with hybrid working arrangement) to provide expertise to a range of public sector clients including Local Government.

    This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to lead procurement and supply chain aspects for a range of national infrastructural projects of varying complexities.

    The candidate will bring enthusiasm to leading procurement and wider consultancy delivery teams and mentoring junior team members as well.

    Our experts in procurement and supply chain management work closely with broader technical, delivery and consulting teams from across Arcadis, providing both strategic best practice, market insights and practical implementation advice.


    As part of our Cost Management team, you'll be involved in a wide range of projects from global and high profile to small and impactful, ensuring they're delivered on time and to budget.

    Your expertise in planning, estimating, budgeting and managing costs will drive growth and smarter working.


    Role accountabilities:
    Lead procurement projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and effective communication and collaboration

    Lead the delivery of a fully comprehensive procurement service, with robust and efficiently priced contracts

    Strategic development and verification of procurement options from first principles for complex projects; obtain, extract, and use appropriate sourcing approaches to propose procurement delivery

    Develop and propose potential solutions that resolve complex business problems and meet or exceed client expectations

    Working with clients and team members to provide leadership and direction for procurement related activities including achievement of sustainability targets

    Manage and lead the creation of strategic change and actionable plans to align supply chains with clients' business objectives and priorities

    Effective liaison with stakeholders to enable projects progress without delay, ensuring that all reasonable requests are met in a timely efficient manner

    Identify business development opportunities and communicate these to senior colleagues, to generate additional revenues and enhance client satisfaction

    Ability to lead sales process and tenders of up to a £1m, identify and land sales opportunities with new and existing clients


    Manage and lead a programme of projects to ensure that all commissions receive the relevant allocation of suitable resource to deliver them efficiently.


    Qualifications & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant discipline

    Full professional member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) - essential

    Demonstrable experience in leading procurement teams and delivering successful outcomes

    Analytical skills required to make informed, balanced business decisions and reporting findings back to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders

    Confidence in communicating and managing business relationships with senior-management level and stakeholders

    Experience of business and client development


    People leadership; inspire and motivate people whether this is on or off project both internal as well as in client environments.
