    Job overview

    Working across the Borough of Hounslow and Richmond as our classes and clinics are at different locations requiring travelling between sites.

    Experience and skills required;

  • Significant relevant post registration experience in cardiology with evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience and/or a keen interest and understanding in the rehabilitation of cardiac patients and of those with chronic conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills, be organised, a good team player and have time management skills to work under pressure alongside other members of the team.
  • Work autonomously and be able to make decisions

    Main duties of the job

  • Independently perform advanced assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological needs and deliver an individualised and specialised treatment programme of care.
  • Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with freedom to act on own interpretation of data without direct supervision.
  • Use evidence-based principles/current best practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions ensuring a high-quality service and delivery of safe and effective outpatient clinics, exercise for patients with CVD and Heart Health Education Sessions in accordance with best practice.
  • Consolidate and develop knowledge and skills through participation in continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Assist in the supervision, education and assessment/competence of students as required. This would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by degree level qualification.

  • NMC Registration
  • Post registration qualification in cardiology/ related subject
  • Desirable criteria

  • Member of BACPR
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Minimum 2 years post registration experience in cardiology/ cardiothoracic
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Delivering Health Promotion to individuals and/or groups – virtual and face to face
  • Experience of auditing and evaluating clinical nursing care
  • Desirable criteria

  • Teaching experience
  • Postgraduate experience in CH&R
  • Attendance at BACPR Courses
  • Experience in service development
  • Understanding of working in the community
