The Role of the Regional Sales Manager

  • Day to day running of the area, dealing with OEM's, End Users and Distributors.
  • Looking for high value projects to supply Industrial Gear & Drive packages including Helical, Bevel, Planetary, Open and Standard gearboxes along with Ancillaries.
  • Selling mainly Gearboxes to both new and existing customers as well as offering technical support to colleagues.
  • Dealing with bespoke projects as well as standard products this will be a consultative sale.
  • There will be lots of autonomy to target sectors that you have experience in but working across industries such as F&B, Power Stations, Water, Marine, Offshore, Power Gen etc
  • Orders can range from £10k £3million with an average order value of £80k and your target will be circa £1.8million.
  • Lots of new projects into existing customers and replacement work as well as looking for new business.
  • Need to be able to work out calculations for Speed, Power, Torque and Inertia in front of customers.

The Ideal Person for the Regional Sales Manager

  • Experience selling Gearboxes or Gear units & Industrial Drives or a wider Power Transmission background.
  • MUST be able to understand the fundamentals of and do basic calculations around Power, Speed, Torque & Inertia.
  • Strong customer relationship skills and a good technical understanding of Engineering.
  • Able to see a project through from inception to completion.
  • They would consider someone who started as an Engineer and then moved into sales.
  • Ideally ONC + in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering though may consider from Electrical or Electronic.
  • An understanding of motor controls including inverter drives would be a benefit.
  • Hard working, driven, technically able.
