As an Airside Driver Trainer you will be responsible for carrying out a variety of duties which support Heathrow's objective of ensuring that Airside driving standards are continuously improved.

This is a varied position including delivering training packages and supporting with team projects.

  • Working alongside the design team to assure accurate training materials are provided for all permits.
  • Carrying out regular audits of third party driver training providers to ensure that they deliver the Heathrow driver training material to the required standard.
  • Producing high quality written outcome reports from oversight activities, and make clear areas for improvement where required.
  • Carrying out training and assessment duties for all driving permits 'A', 'M', and 'R' class driving licenses, or any future permits which may be introduced by Heathrow.
  • Carrying out training and assessment duties for specialist driving skills as required; this may include 'leader' duties or other drivingrelated skill which may be identified from time to time.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • Experience or a good standard of knowledge working in an Airside environment.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to operate several IT systems, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Has an awareness of ICAO, CAA regulations and CAP790 guidance.

Ideally, you would also:


  • Hold a current accredited assessor/trainer qualification.
  • Have stakeholder management skills and experience of influencing in a complex environment.
