Description
Our client is a large local government business and looking for an experienced Management Accountant on a permanent basis

Production of monthly management and assisting with annual statutory accounts

Preparation of budgets and forecasts

Preparation of financial reports and liaison with budget holders and other stakeholders external to finance to discuss and review


Maintaining a good level of technical accounting knowledge to ensure that accounts are prepared correctly and in line with the relevant accounting standards.

Ensure all reporting deadlines are met without exception

Manage workload, delivery and development of assistant management accountants

Balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with best practice

Journal processing, including ensuring the correct accounting of accruals and prepayments

Review of assistant management accounts work to ensure accuracy

Interrogation of financial systems to identify errors and make corrections

Variance analysis

Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
