Job summary
Hillfoot Surgery is located in Pudsey and has a practice population of 10,000. Working under the direct supervisionof the Practice Nurses and strictly in accordance with specific Practiceguidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in theprovision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care and delivery of long term conditions
Thepost is part time, 16 hours over 2 days.
Main duties of the job
Support GPs and Practice nurses in carrying long term condition reviews
ECG recording
Blood Pressure taking and recording
Urinalysis
Height & Weight recording
Phlebotomy
Spirometry
Dressings
Health promotion and signposting to services
B12, flu and pneumonia vaccinations.
Chaperoning duties
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
Ordering and returning equipment from
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Hillfoot Surgery isin Pudsey and is part of West Leeds PCN. We have a patient population of 10,000
There are 3 GPpartners and 1 non-clinical partner. In addition, there are 4 salaried GPs . We have 2 practice nurses and 2 HCAs and host several of the PCNservices. We are a training practice for both 4th year medicalstudents and GP registrars and have a strong ethos of training and development.
