    Software Engineer

    This role can be remote, (if living in the UK) or, you can be hybrid or office based in Milton Keynes.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    As a Software Engineer and member of our UK Agile Scrum team, you will collaborate with our global team working on market-leading fleet telematics products and will help design, develop, test, deliver and maintain solutions.

    You will help us in our mission to solve our customers' problems.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining Teletrac Navman software solutions.
  • Assuming technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process; take on tasks in coding, testing, requirements gathering, design, delivery, and support of new and existing features and applications.
  • Assisting with analysing requirements for new products, liaising with end users and product management
  • Ensuring a strong focus on delivery, execution, and the customer
  • Committing to product quality, particularly by means of code reviews, implementation of unit tests and QA test execution

    • Overall, you will be hands-on, engaged and take ownership of your responsibilities and personal growth.

    ABOUT YOU:

    You'll have 3 years+ of experience and a strong background in Java development, and ideally also have experience of .Net C# implementation and be ready to take your next career move into a global company with a manager and team that values and promotes personal development.

    Knowledge and experience of micro-services architecture and message queueing/streaming using RabbitMQ, Kinesis or similar is highly desirable

    Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • At a minimum Bachelor's Degree in a scientific, numerate, or IT discipline
  • Ideally with a master's degree or at least 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Object-orientated programming skills in Java and/or C#.
  • Experience with relational database design and performance optimization
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and able to demonstrate initiative and an ability to adapt to change.
  • Worked in Agile teams/processes
  • Ability to understand/learn new languages, technologies and tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills – with the ability to carefully analyse and drive to root cause
  • Programming Languages preferred combinations:
    • Java and C#
    • Java and React
    • Java and C# and React

    • Desirable:

  • .NET Development, Experience of SOAP, Restful, XML, Json and Linq
  • Knowledge in designing and implementing micro services architecture and using message queue engine or streaming platform (e.g. RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, Kinesis, etc).
