The key duties of this Finance Manager role are as follows:

  • Play a leading role in the production of the monthly management accounts and have critical input into the preparation of subsequent board reports.
  • Deputise for the CFO in the annual budget setting process, with the review of taking full responsibility in the future as you progress.
  • Manage the finance team, ensuring they are all delivering on their targets and provided with opportunities to learn and develop in their careers.
  • Provide crucial financial advice on a multitude of unique community projects, working closely with Project Leads to advise on financial performance against budget ad answer any queries.
  • Full responsibility for the preparation of VAT returns and ensure that all financial controls are robust and fitforpurpose.


This Finance Manager role has been specifically designed as a developmental opportunity, offering exceptional on-the-job training potential, in addition to a study support package and an excellent path for progression into the future.

Furthermore, the organisationis currently operating on an extremely flexible working model, with the staff only required to attend their Birmingham office a few times per month.


  • Achieved their full accountancy qualification or be at least halfway through their studies.
  • Experience working in a role of a similar nature, including strong knowledge of management accounting and budgeting.
  • Ideally, a background working in the notforprofit sector, but this is by no means essential.
  • Experience managing a small team.
  • A proactive mindset and an adaptable working nature.
