    Job Description

    Were looking to hire a proactive and driven Solutions Strategy Manager to join Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) in a varied position, to highlight LGIM capabilities that clients could consider to enhance the efficiency of their portfolios

    An exciting opportunity where you'll gain broad experience to the whole of Solutions in Defined Benefit pension schemes and multiple asset classes. This role will allow you to support and work with the portfolio managers whilst offering exposure to client hence allowing the opportunity to develop pitching skills. The role may also involve direct line management responsibility and mentoring/coaching across broader team members

    Client engagement:
  • The role of an Solutions Strategist is to consider and understand a client's portfolio in the context of their objectives and to highlight LGIM capabilities that the client could consider to enhance the efficiency of the portfolio and to better align their investment strategy with their objective
  • This could relate to a specific area of the portfolio (e.g. LDI, synthetic equity, cash management or cashflow matching, or it could encompass the whole portfolio
  • Acting as a primary investment point of contact and centre of excellence for a number of clients including those with investments in LDI and related collateral waterfalls
  • Drive forward and Contribute to innovative and practical thought leadership, in additional to updating and maintaining technical input for collateral relating to presentations, RFPs and other marketing collateral
  • Strategy and business development:
  • Evolve the business offering and servicing across LGIM to better support our clients (for example reporting collateral waterfalls). This may be implemented through being involved in Strategic projects both within Solutions and in cross-team working groups across LGIM.
  • Automate and streamline the existing processes conducted by all members of the team, retaining ownership for appropriate tasks while moving ownership for other tasks.
  • Support a One LGIM approach in DB by being the link between Investments and the Distribution channels as well as improving the link between the investment specialist teams across investments.
    Qualifications
  • To hit the ground running in this role you'll have a track record of successful relationship management
  • Appropriate experience of working within asset management OR knowledge of some of the asset classes is preferred
  • Ability to engage and motivate others and to lead team members
  • You'll be Client-focused, team player, with a can do attitude
  • An understanding of DB pension schemes with an appropriate understanding of DB clients objectives, the regulations they face and the challenges they need to overcome desirable
  • An understanding of the Pension Risk Transfer market and how DB pension schemes transact with insurers is desirable
  • You'll have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas in a logical manner
  • This role offers autonomy and ownership of clients and projects, so we require a self starter, who is comfortable managing multiple deadlines and tasks
  • An understanding of derivatives & LDI and Buy and Maintain Credit investment approaches is desirable
  • An understanding of the Pension Risk Transfer market and how DB pension schemes transact with insurers is desirable
  • An understanding of Responsible Investing / ESG as it applies to DB pension schemes is desirable
  • Experience of setting investment strategy and carrying out portfolio construction is desirable
  • Strong academic/professional qualifications background and/or experience gained in similar positions required.
