    Reports to Senior Operational Resilience Manager

    We are looking for a self-motivated and driven individual with a background in Business Continuity Management ("BCM") to join our growing BCM Team.

    Forming part of the group-wide Risk function, the purpose of this role is support in the delivery of the Aztec Group ("Aztec") BCM Programme encompassing the complete BCM Lifecycle.

    The successful candidate will work alongside the Business Continuity Lead in the on-going development of a Business Continuity Management System ("BCMS") according to ISO22301.

    This role offers exposure to senior management, alongside an opportunity to learn about all operational aspects of a fast paced, high-growth business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, business contacts and senior internal and external stakeholders to engender confidence in the BCM Programme and act as a key contact point for BCM related queries across Aztec.
    • Attend, as required, board meetings, committees, and forums as a BC representative.
    • Support engagement with regulators, auditors, clients and other external stakeholders.

    BC Management

    • Work alongside the Senior Business Continuity Manager in the ongoing development and maintenance of Aztec's BCM framework.
    • Execution of Business Impact Analyses to identify business continuity requirements and to determine prioritised activities, maximum tolerable periods of disruption and recovery objectives.
    • In collaboration with the Risk team perform BC risk and threat assessments to understand potential threats to Aztec and identify unacceptable risks.
    • Support the development and implementation of Aztec's BCM strategy and mitigation measures aligned to Aztec goals and long-term plans.
    • Development and maintenance of Strategic and Jurisdictional BC Plans.
    • Development and maintenance of BCM plan and process templates, and support and oversight of the business in the development, creation and maintenance of product and service BCM plans and processes.
    • Planning, delivery and reporting of BCM Tests according to Group policy.
    • Active role in embedding BCM within the organisation including supporting the design and delivery of BCM training.
    • Continuous evaluation of the regulatory environment, and BCM best practice to ensure that Aztec's BCM framework remains fit for purpose and meet all required regulatory requirements.
    • Provide support for the management and co-ordination of Aztec Group's Resilience Governance Forum.

    Oversight and Monitoring

    • Monitor and report on the status of BCM activities and BCM maturity and produce periodic BCM reports to key forums including the Resilience Forum, Operations Executive Committee and regulated jurisdictional boards.
    • Support the development of a BCM maturity model to monitor and report on progress toward IS22301 certification.
    • Oversee and support the business in annual BCM plan and process review activities.
    • Oversee and manage the execution and reporting of plan and process testing.
    • Work with the project management team to ensure that BCM requirements are evaluated and addressed at the appropriate project management gateways.
    • Identify and escalate BCM issues where required.

    Business Development

    • Support Business Development by responding to client due diligence questionnaires regarding BCM.
    • Attending client due diligence meetings as required as a representative of BCM.

    Supplier Due Diligence

    • Review and assess supplier BCM responses to Aztec due diligence questionnaires to ensure that supplier meet's Aztec's BCM and resilience requirements.

    The Candidate

    • Certified Business Continuity professional (MBCI (BCI), CBCP (DRII) or higher).
    • 10+ years of relevant experience, at least 5 of which are in a Business Continuity specific role, preferably within a financial services environment.
    • Working knowledge of BC operations in an ISO22301 certified organisation, or in an organisation actively working towards this certification.
    • Exposure to the complete BCM lifecycle.
    • Aware of Operational Resilience (OR) and other resilience regulation that apply within the Finance industry.
    • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement at all levels.
    • Professional presentation skills and proficiency in standard Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Results orientated, self-motivated and capable of prioritising and organising workloads.
    • Ability to work autonomously in a multi-discipline, cross-jurisdictional environment.
    • Consulting skills and an ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex situations.
    • Ability interpreting and balancing commercial issues within the confines of BCM.
    • Ability to take ownership and demonstrate initiative, to negotiate, consult, influence, build consensus cross-functionally and successfully navigate within a demanding environment.
    • Experience of implementing or working with digital BCMS and / or Crisis Management and communications tools would be an advantage.
