    Introduction

    The House of Commons Retail Team is a dynamic and ambitious team with three gift shops across the Parliamentary Estate, with an online shop and a warehouse based in North Acton.

    Retail Services is part of the Customer Experience and Service Delivery team, with a remit of delivering an exceptional omnichannel retail experience for Members and their staff, House staff, visitors to Parliament, and the public. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a creative and ambitious team in a non-traditional retail environment.

    The Role

    Your role as the Retail Warehouse Supervisor will be to manage all the stock requirements of the retail team, including physical & 'pop-up', and online shop. The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and lead in best practice procedures to ensure efficient workflow within the warehouse environment and stock delivery to various locations.

    Service is a key part of this role as you will be liaising with internal and external customers as well as different teams across the House.

    The role is also responsible for line managing and developing the Warehouse & Online Shop Assistant.

    Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Manage and oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Supply stock and consumables to the shops according to the weekly replenishment rota, advising key team members of any items which are not available.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Shopify and conduct regular inventory audits including full bi-annual stocktakes to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Control and manage stock loss, highlighting areas of concern to the Merchandising Manager.
  • Skills and Experience

    To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management and inventory control, along with strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety and Manual Handling. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and proven organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to prioritise your workload to specific deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to deliver information effectively.
