Landmarc Support Services work on site with Defence Infrastructure Organisation to support critical military training across the United Kingdom.
We are a small business that operates nationally, but with a local feel, our offices stretch from the furthest point in Scotland, to beautiful Cornwall in the South West of England.
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to join the team at Castlelaw Ranges, situated in the small village of Penicuik, in Pentland Hills Regional Park.
This position is based on a 37hr working week over 4 to 5 days, including weekends. Your working hours per day may vary depending on site requirements. Any hours worked in addition to the 37 hours per week will qualify for TOIL or overtime payment. You will be required to be flexible in your approach and must be able to commit to regularly working up until midnight to cover night shooting on the ranges. A generous salary is offered of up to £23K once fully trained plus allowances totalling £2025 for the variable days attendance pattern and for working until midnight when required for night shoots.
Role overview:
- Maintenance and setting up of firing ranges
- Construction of targets for range use
- Preventative and Reactive maintenance tasks
- Grounds maintenance such as fencing, mowing and strimming
- Potential for forestry work such as removal of fallen trees training will be provided
- Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment training will be provided
- Driving and operating fleet vehicles
- To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work
- Knowledge of health and safety
- Have a full drivers licence valid in the United Kingdom
- Basic IT skills
- Willingness to undertake full training
- Basic DIY Skills

The starting salary for a Training Area Operative at Foundation level is £21,059.96, when completing modules the pay rises to Core £21,665.48, then Advanced £22,876.49 upon the completion of all allocated training modules
Once Advanced level is reached the total pay, including allowances, will be £24,901.49
