    Job DescriptionShift based Engineering Technicians will be on a 3-shift or earlies and lates pattern within the Packing function.

    Shift based technicians are predominantly assigned to lines and will be responsible for driving line performance (corrective/breakdown maintenance and proactive line improvements).Also by supporting and coaching operators to make the required interventions and adjustments to maximise GE.

    By working at source with Operators it enhances improvements to be made.

    Be a part of the reliability improvement team by working closely with the maintenance planning team and the production engineering (CI) team to prioritise projects and initiatives to increase GE and MTBF.Site wide responsibility for corrective actions in all areas as required.

    Days based Engineering Technicians will have a bias on planned maintenance, preventative and curative as opposed to reactive issues.

    Working in these roles will involve the following:

    Safety is paramount to all that we do: we work safely or not at all, so this is engrained in all Engineering Technicians, and work within JDE safety standards.

    Quality / food safety is also paramount, to ensure production targets are met and that all lines and areas conform to quality standardsTo undertake Preventative Maintenance (PM), Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and breakdown work as requiredTake an active part in planned maintenance and repair of Plant and EquipmentBe part of the site responsible persons team (to include part of the Fire response team for siteand electrically trained to a suitable level)To work as a close-knit team to actively drive the resolution of plant breakdowns and resolve running issues, and operate with a high level of autonomy Support and drive packing line format change overs and identify improvements to reduce the change over time in futureTo actively lead and participate in CI & GE improvement activitiesTo assist, support and implement Project work when required.

    Be a link between the project and the maintenance team through, for example, implementing new PMs for new equipment and establishing correct spares coverage levels.

    Maintain good levels of housekeeping in all areasTo attend and actively participate in OPS/production meetings and RCA sessions. Report plant status and identify escalations as requiredTo actively support the operational team to meet volume demandsActive use of SAP to log breakdown data, correctives and booking parts out of StoresTake accountability for your own ongoing development with a demonstratable planQualificationsTime served apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical discipline or be multiskilledExpectation to become fully multi-skilledKnowledge & experience of all relevant technologies and equipmentMinimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent qualification in engineeringExperience and use of SAP maintenance programme Demonstrate good understanding of relevant industry standards for Mechanical & Electrical engineeringAs part of a small working group the successful applicant will be expected to be self-motivated, a team player, flexible and prepared to take on a range of responsibilities without the need for supervisionKnowledge of PLC and HMI programming and associated networks would be an advantage ADZN1_UKTJ
