    JOB SUMMARY

    The TJX Europe ER Team is focused on championing our culture and developing our people. This role plays a vital part in this, leading HR Fundamentals for Europe, a learning offer which supports people managers to lead their team fairly, consistently, in line with employment law and our culture and values. The role also plays an active part in leading and contributing to pan-European ER Projects such as supporting policy roadmap objectives and launch plans.

    The role champions the HR Fundamental offer, continuously improving the learning with a blend of face-to-face and digital solutions. It works in close partnership with our learning colleagues, HR BP's and the business. It has a commercial lens, delivering an annual HR fundamental learning plan to support business objectives. It manages a budget, pan-European suppliers and cross-functional senior stakeholders at all levels. It reviews the impact of HR Fundamentals through data and insight, sharing this knowledge to support ER projects, the policy roadmap and business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Accountability – HR Fundamentals

  • Devise and implement an annual project plan to deliver HR Fundamentals learning by country and business area to align with HR goals and priorities
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and the critical path – escalate risks to ER AVP
  • Meet with AVP ER and key Business and HR Stakeholders to sign-off on annual HR Fundamentals plan
  • Track and monitor progress against the HRF project plan – share regular data and insight reports pro-actively to highlight progress
  • Account manage Acas and Door to ensure best in class delivery, up-to-date workshop content in line with employment law, delivery in line with budget and to agreed timelines by country
  • Continuously improve and review learning offer to ensure all training is compliant with employment law, updated with legal changes and the right mix of face-to-face and digital learning
  • Work in partnership with broader HR team, wellbeing team and ER to collaborate on content / design of HR Fundamental training and with HR BP's and L&D on delivery / rollout
  • Work with HR communications and translation and transcreation team to ensure language and tone of all materials is aligned with TJX approach and culturally appropriate
  • Manage internal promotion of HR Fundamentals through innovative solutions such as digital posters and videos to raise profile of HRF and drive attendance on courses
  • Work in close partnership with the Policy team to ensure HR Fundamentals work aligns with policy roadmap work – look for opportunities to drive synergies across both areas
  • Work in close partnership wth L&D to ensure HR Fundamentals supports overall learning offer and has a clear identity
  • Pro-actively manage budget of £400-£600k, report on progress and ensure PO's are managed efficiently and paid in a timely way
  • Provide regular updates to ER AVP, Broader ER team, HRLT, HR BP's and business on HRF via focus 45's and through attendance at team meetings
  • Cultivate stakeholder relationships across HR, Retail and Distribution to support successful implementation of HRF
  • Ensure I&D principles are embedded in all HR fundamentals learning
  • Accountability - ER Projects

  • Under the direction of AVP ER, support and lead on ER projects which align with HR goals and priorities
  • Benchmark and research relevant ER topics to support project design and implementation
  • Liaise with Programme team and act as ER link to get project management support for ER projects
  • Agree / discuss project objectives with ER AVP, scope, deliverables, timescales and budgets and secure sign off from Sponsors and Stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on ER projects ensuring key stakeholders are engaged such as European ER colleagues, HR communications. Translation and Transcreation, HR BP community
  • Support on ER Projects as required – these will vary and may include supporting the Manager of Policy with planning launch and implementation of policy work, drafting manager guides, researching policy, being the ER lead on cross-function working groups
  • Accountability – Line Management

  • Lead and develop direct report
  • Oversee their management of attendees on training programmes
  • Oversee their reporting – data and insight
  • Other responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the European ER team – attending and contributing to team meetings and activities
  • Share learning to help develop broader ER team
  • Support ER AVP on ER activities and projects as needed
  • Take a Europe-first approach to ER work
  • Cultivate a close working relationship with Policy and wellbeing team
  • Key Performance Indicators

  • Reaching agreement with ER AVP and key stakeholders on what HRF learning should be delivered for the relevant financial year
  • Creation of HRF project plan and milestones for relevant financial year
  • Delivery against the HRF project plan, ensuring learning is compliant and relevant for each European market
  • Successful delivery in line with budget
  • Delivery of ER Projects agreed with ER AVP to pre-agreed budget and timelines
  • Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of working in or in partnership with learning and development
  • Knowledge of European landscape and differences
  • Proven track record of working effectively with senior level stakeholders
  • Able to take a lead, be pro-active and operate autonomously
  • Experience of working across Europe and managing projects across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong influencing skills at all levels
  • Excellent at relationship building and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to influence stakeholders within an organisation irrespective of reporting line structure
  • Demonstrable experience of working in teams to achieve a common goal
  • Ideally qualified with a recognised HR qualification
  • People Management experience beneficial but not essential
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, with exacting timelines, and where high levels of accuracy are required
