The Risk Management function at 888 William Hill is expanding, and we are looking for a risk enthusiast to help establish a best-in-class risk management culture by establishing an ERM infrastructure that manages the Company's overall risk exposure, generates competitive advantages and create business opportunities.

You'll be responsible for assessing and managing operational risks within the organization. This includes risks related to business processes, systems, and external events. You'll work closely with various departments and business units to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks. You'll also be responsible for managing more junior risk and control officers within the team.


Your role within the team
- support the development, implementation and embedding of the enterprise risk management framework, driving the evolution of risk and control processes
- lead the development and maintenance of Operational risk processes including RCSAs, KRIs with key business stakeholders
- lead in the build and maintenance of operational risk libraries including risk and control registers in conjunction with relevant teams
- collaborate with business leaders and senior management in the production of RCSAs and other risk management tools and reporting
- undertake internal control reviews ensuring the results are effectively documented and reporting on the adequacy of the internal control environment and on compliance with regulatory and group requirements
- ensure that Incidents and Issues are appropriately recorded and assessed and oversee remedial actions to ensure they are robust, timely, and tracked to completion
- leading the collation, analysis and reporting of operational risk MI for management reporting

  • Identifying key trends, issues and other insights into operational risk management and following up with the key stakeholders as required
  • Advise on key operational risks, appropriateness of controls, seeking opportunities for process/control improvement and best practices
  • Manage the activities of more junior risk and control officers within the team
- effectively manage relationships with internal, external and regulatory audit stakeholders and assist in the implementation, monitoring and reporting of internal / external audit recommendations.
- assess and challenge the impacts that new initiatives, operational change and projects pose to the strategic aims and risk profile of the Group

  • Maintain strong and up to date knowledge of emerging risks through research and other means and ensure addressed by the businesses
  • Maintain key risk management policies and procedures and provide appropriate training, working closely with other areas of the Risk and Compliance Team to ensure cohesive and effective sharing of knowledge and best use of resources

What you'll need

  • A strong background within risk management and demonstrable experience of contributing to the design and effectiveness of ERM frameworks
  • Understanding of core risk management tools, including RCSAs, risk reporting, risk appetite statements, incidents and issues
  • Have experience and understanding of the operational risk management framework and interrelationships
  • Previous people management experience
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to multitask on quality work deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to develop core relationships across the organisation
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Display commercial awareness and understanding of key business priorities
  • Working knowledge and experience from within the gambling industry
