You will predominately be handling your own case load of delegated authority claims which will include but not limited to credit hire cases, suspected credit hire fraud, liability investigations and bodily injury cases whilst assisting and helping to shape our best in class strategy for our insurer clients.

To actively monitor credit hire and repair claims and ensure they are efficiently dealt with.

To also undertake a variety of tasks to support the members of the litigation teams working on Complex credit hire files.


Key Accountabilities

  • Contacting organisations by telephone to ensure matters are progressing correctly
  • Questioning repair and hire periods as appropriate with a view to reducing overall hire days
  • Dealing with queries from other parties
  • Managing a diary to effectively deal with all matters in a timely fashion
  • Liaising with Courts, Counsel, Opponents, Experts, Witnesses, Insureds and brokers to progress the case. Examples of tasks include requesting and providing updates; requests for extensions to comply with directions; booking Counsel for hearings and conferences; and appointments with experts.
  • Follow up on outstanding instructions, documents and other actions to ensure that responses are received within required timescales.
  • Chase clients to ensure payments are received and dispatched within required deadlines
  • Diarising and updating CRU
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations

Working Hours
35 hours per week worked 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive with 1 hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the Bolton office and 4 days from home.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Education at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
  • Good telephone negotiation skills and manner is essential
  • Ability to follow work processes and procedures
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office

Technical knowledge to be developed:

  • Understanding of Credit Hire
