Job summary
Promote and support the operation of our school-aged immunisation service delivered on-site in schools for children of primary and secondary age, with follow-up clinics within the community.
Main duties of the job
Workcollaboratively to support the team to facilitate the smooth continuity ofservice delivery.
Collectionof vaccines from base location& delivery to schools/clinicsfollowing cold chain guidelines.
Collectionfrom the base location of any materials/equipment for the day'svaccinations and delivery to schools/clinics.
Return ofunused vaccines, equipment and paperwork to base location after vaccinationsession has been completed.
Understandthe prerequisites of giving an immunisation, contra-indications, aftercare andthe relevant advice to give to the young person, parents and careers.
Understandthe relevant requirements for storage and transport instructions forimmunisations, collection and delivery of vaccinations to the site.
Contributeto the identification and immunisation of home-schooled children and those inPupil Referral Units.
Assist inthe planning, delivery and evaluation of health promotion/education and publichealth activities related to the Childhood Nasal Influenza Immunisationcampaign, in conjunction with the team.
Ensureinfection control procedures and Identify risks / clinical incidents thefollowing policy and informing the line manager.
Promote andfacilitate collaborative working between the school-aged immunisation team,schools and other educational institutions and families in the delivery of theschool-aged immunisation programme.
