Our marine survey team has seen extensive growth in recent years and is looking to expand further to become a known and trusted survey brand during what is a very exciting time for the industry.

We have a wide-ranging client base across multiple marine industries, including ports and harbours, aggregates, offshore wind, cables and infrastructure developments.


Our survey capability includes hydrographic (including drone ASV), geophysical, oceanographic, topographic (including drone AUV), environmental sampling, ecological and ornithological survey.


As part of the
ABP Group, some of our work involves regular surveys within the
ABP ports around the UK, while the majority relates to commercial projects for the aggregate industry, offshore wind, cables and infrastructure developments.


We offer a full survey and consultancy package to clients, which means we are involved with interesting and varied long-term projects.

Typical survey durations range from a few hours local to Southampton, to three weeks on UK inshore projects.


The Role

We are looking to strengthen our survey team with a graduate surveyor to assist with our increasing number of survey projects.


This new, exciting role will include multibeam bathymetry survey, oceanographic deployments, drone operation (both aerial and automated vessels), environmental sampling and more, with the added benefit of learning about the wider consultancy aspects of the business.


As a graduate surveyor you will be involved with assisting in survey planning, instrument preparations in our Southampton based store, vessel mobilisations, data acquisition, processing and reporting.


Part of a small survey department, you will be exposed to all aspects of a survey timeline, making a fantastic opportunity to gain broad survey knowledge early in your career.


Responsibilities:


  • Survey mobilisation and data acquisition
  • Instrument preparations and maintenance
  • Data processing and creation of data deliverables
  • Survey reporting
  • Assisting in the development of survey department procedures
  • Assisting in the continued growth of the survey team

Requirements:


  • You have a relevant degree in hydrography, oceanography, or marine science.
  • You have keen interest in all elements of marine survey.
  • You are experienced with vesselbased survey activities.
  • You live within commutable distance of Southampton
  • You are flexible to travel to sitebased projects, often at short notice
  • MATLAB skills are an advantage
