This is an exciting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist to join a diverse and motivated team that are dedicated to the development of skills and the delivery of high quality safe care.
As the Ward Receptionist, you will often be the first point of contact for patients and visitors when entering the ward so a friendly, welcoming smile and excellent communication skills are essential.
As a caring and positive person, you will need to be able to work as part of an established team, have the ability to work flexibly and be committed to ensuring the smooth running of reception.
We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, content with working in a busy environment and who has good time management skills.
You must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
In addition to the below summary, you need to familiarise yourself with the full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached to this advert.
Tasks will include but not be limited to fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient information using technology systems.
After appropriate training, the post holder will be required to utilise the hospital Medway PAS computer system to capture and update necessary data, and to use the case note tracing system to accurately record the movement of paper based health records.

Work Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous Experience as a Receptionist
- Customer Care
- Previous Employment within a Health field / or working within a team
- Clerical experience
Qualifications:
Essential criteria
- Secondary school standard of education in basic numeracy and literacy
- Evidence of personal development in previous employment
- Competent at using NerveCentre / Medway system
- Nationally recognized qualification in basic literacy and numeracy

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
