Senior Ranger - Riverside Country Park

£32,438.64


Medway Norse have an exciting opportunity to join their Countryside and Urban Rangers Department as a Senior Ranger, based out of Rainham and the surrounding areas.


As a Senior Ranger, you will be responsible for leading the team of rangers in Medway Parks and Countryside areas.

The role of a Senior Ranger encompasses a variety of duties, including; maintenance, day-to-day running, park management, health and safety, event organisation and supervision.

This position will require you to conduct both hands-on and desk based activities, so pro-activity and flexibility to your workload will be ideal.


  • A Qualification in countryside management ,arboriculture or related land management or experience in a similar role.
  • NPTC/Lantra award in chainsaw maintenance cross cutting and small trees up to 380mm (CS30), and NPTC/Lantra award in tree felling medium sized trees (CS31)
  • Experience of practical conservation work.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and part of a wider team
  • Proven experience managing a team, both in regards to organising daytoday activities and administrative duties
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to prioritise and problem solve.


Due to the scope of the position there is a requirement to work variable hours, including weekends / bank holidays and in the outdoors in all weathers on a shift rota basis.

The shift is based on working 10 days in 14, and will be confirmed at the point of offer to the role.
