    The Privacy Team which sits within PwC's Compliance Department is looking for a bright, enthusiastic in-house data protection specialist to join the team as a Manager. The successful candidate will assist with the oversight and fulfilment of data subjects rights requests and supporting the Audit practice with data protection compliance.

    We are looking for a candidate who:
    • has experience advising on privacy matters;
    • has a regulatory/compliance background;
    • has extensive experience dealing with the end-to-end response to DSARs and deletion requests;
    • has a solid understanding of EU and UK data protection legislation (UK GDPR, DPA, PECR);
    • has an understanding of ancillary legislation (EU AI Act, UK AI frameworks) and case law updates concerning data privacy;
    • is enthusiastic about developing themselves and others;
    • is computer literate;
    • can work to tight deadlines and multiple demands;
    • is highly motivated and confident to work independently, but with support from more experienced subject matter experts/team members where required.
    The successful candidate's key responsibilities will include:
    • Managing the firm's data subject rights programme including the discovery, redaction and provision of data connected with data subject access requests (75%)
    • Managing the privacy practices of the Audit line of service including supporting Audit staff with privacy compliance across client engagements
    • Providing accurate, appropriate, timely and pragmatic advice, striking a balance between legal/regulatory requirements and the wider interests of the business;
    • Reviewing new technology offerings to ensure compliance with data protection by design and default;
    • Conducting comprehensive data protection impact assessments;
    • Undertaking international data transfer risk assessments;
    • Responding to data protection incidents, including remediation and escalation;
    • Assisting on data protection contractual negotiations, including international data transfer arrangements;
    • Supporting the Team Lead with other matters as and when required;
    • Supporting junior team members
