Are you an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety professional? I have a great opportunity available in the Bristol area for an Environmental health and Safety Manager for one of our successful production clients.

The position is a days' role witha salary up to £50,000 and a bonus on top. Brilliant opportunity for a time served manager or an advisor/supervisor looking for a step up.


The Company:
Our client produces high quality recycled plastics, which are produced to tight specifications. Sustainability is at the heart of what they do. They work closely with manufacturers, brand owners and retailers to develop materialsthat are fit for recycling.

They are operating on a new £317 million facility, proof they are happy to invest into the company and the individuals that work there.


Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Lead the development of a positive safety culture at all levels across the business
  • Establishment and improvement of site procedures and safety related systems
  • Ensuring compliance with site environmental permits or licences as well as specific working plans, including general administration and auditing
  • Management of monitoring regimes for the site and ensuring that all recording is carried out in line with permit requirements, company procedures and industry best practise in a safe manner at all times
  • Review any monitoring data collected and provide guidance/corrective actions on problems identified
  • Prepare any environmental monitoring reports and submissions to internal and external bodies in compliance with permits and licences
  • Regular communication with Polymers management team regarding EH&S controls, ensuring all personnel are provided with relevant data and information
  • Ensuring all management systems and infrastructure on site are maintained at optimum levels
  • Chair regular H&S meetings on site
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents and accidents in line with statutory company requirements
  • Provide health and safety support and leadership during planned and unplanned outages
  • Deliver safety and environmental initiatives to the site team
  • Degree (or equivalent) or comparable experience
  • IOSH/NEBOSH safety qualification
  • Experience of managing health and safety and environmental compliance in a complex environment
  • Significant experience of permitted/regulated activities and processes
  • Ability to communicate fluently through written and verbal channels
  • Good team player

The Benefits:


  • Salary up to £50,000
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
