    As part of the above initiative, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer with EICA ( Electrical and Instrumentation Control and Automation) knowledge, where you'll be working within our Operational Planning & Improvement team supporting Wastewater and Networks operational teams. Reporting to the Technical Improvement Manager, you'll effectively deliver concept through to design and implementation of the pollution reduction and optimisation projects from start to finish with key focus on control and automation (PLC / SCADA / HMI).

    Covering the regional base of our operations, you will be supporting across the South Coast being the subject matter expert on technical engineering providing insights to the wider operations team. Your creative and innovative mindset will encourage and develop continuous improvements in our work practices to ensure efficient and effective delivery of performances across the business.

    Your key accountabilities will include:

  • To provide support and building business case for regional pollution reduction and optimisation projects with subject matter expertise, ensuring that required EICA scope is delivered to time and budget.
  • To undertake investigative and corrective work on control systems and instrumentation on both wastewater treatment works and wastewater pumping stations/network as required, identifying any optimisation / efficiency opportunities and making recommendations to project team.
  • The implementation of control system modifications to realise optimisation efficiencies in both site process control and power consumption.
  • Functionality testing of process plant as part of Site Acceptance/E2E Testing and completion of detailed commissioning reports to support take-Over.
  • To build effective working relationships with contractors, team members and other key stakeholders including SW ICA / RTS and telemetry teams.
  • Your role will be integral in deploying power logging equipment and interpret the results to determine baselines and benefits of optimisation projects, ensure commissioning activities comply with Electrical & Instrumentation Site Safety Rules and Health and Safety regulations with a passion to manage and mentor team members to achieve the required objectives and contributing to the development of our technical knowledge networks.

    To be successful, you'll have a strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies and networks such as rising mains, foul sewers and pumping stations and an interest in developing and/or exploiting new and emerging technologies and techniques for an optimised project delivery within the given cost, time and quality. Your practical knowledge of fault finding, calibration, testing, investigating and programming in technical aspects such as telemetry, flow metering, PLCs / control systems and other measurement meters will significantly contribute to an efficient day to day running of our sites and in the long-term building the knowledge base within the team too Your valuable experience in designing and implementing process improvements via control system modifications and experience in diagnosing and fixing complex process and control system faults will support us in ensuring proactive measures are taken to avoid interruptions to our supply of service.

You will be able to analyse and understand complex and inter-dependant project plans and assure such in a thorough and logical way using your strong analytical skills.
