- Develop ETL pipelines to integrate and test large alternative datasets for the Commodities trading desk, working in close collaboration with quant researchers and data engineering teams.
- Architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based systems for storing and exploring vast alternative datasets in collaboration with the AWS infrastructure team.
- Monitor, support, debug, and extend existing Commodities trading and research infrastructure alongside Researchers and Support Engineers.
- Elite proficiency in Python, especially in numerical libraries such as numpy, pandas, and matplotlib.
- Basic knowledge of AWS and databases (e.g., SQL).
- Familiarity with development practices including version control with Git, unit testing, etc.
- A quantitative mindset and a collaborative attitude.
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Dash) and creating dashboards is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services (e.g., DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Lambda, AWS CDK).
- Expertise in databases, including query optimization and understanding relational vs. non-relational databases.
- Experience with parallel computation and geographic data using geopandas, xarray.
- Financial knowledge is a plus, but not mandatory.
