    The Craneware Group supports a flexible work environment as well as a collaborative and teamwork focused atmosphere. Employees will be expected to work a hybrid working arrangement spending 40% of their time per month in the Tanfield office - approx 2 days per week.

    The Team

    The Senior Accountant provides all financial information relating to sales, revenue and cost of sales for the group and calculation of UK payroll.

    You Will Be
    • Reviewing of sales and renewal contracts for completeness and accuracy and identification of any contingencies that would impact revenue recognition.
    • Initial determination of revenue recognition for inclusion in financial statements.
    • Processing sales invoices to customers from the contracts, including all annual billings with any applicable inflators. Ensure compliance in all US states with regards to sales tax with review of information provided by 3rd party software vendor.
    • Producing of key management information relating to revenue, sales and renewal rates for reporting purposes.
    • Calculating sales commissions due to the sales team under the applicable compensation plans and production of monthly reports for review and authorisation by sales leadership in order to ensure the sales team are compensated accurately for fully executed contracts sold.
    • Processing UK payroll after Review and verification of information provided, submission of real time reporting of PAYE/NIC to HMRC, submission of pension contributions and liaising with HMRC and pension provider on any payroll issues to ensure compliance with UK regulations and salary payments are made timely and accurately.
    • Complete calculation and submission of the monthly cost of sales relating to 3rd party licenses and royalty payments to ensure accurate management information for income statements.
    • Maintaining revenue recognition detailed analysis spreadsheet for accurate reporting of group revenues.
    • Performing reconciliation with other internal systems to ensure completeness and accuracy of internal and external reporting.
    • Preparing all reporting to an audit-ready standard for external examination.
      You Will Bring
      • Professional accountancy qualification with a recognised accounting body and 5+ years' post qualification experience in commercial environment.
      • Absolute attention to detail.
      • Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to read and interpret legal contracts.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - being able to work with all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders.
      • High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office, NetSuite and Sage Payroll - ability at intermediate level.
      • Commercial awareness around interpreting contracts.
      • Update to date knowledge of UK payroll, and associated agencies such as HMRC, regulations and legislation associated with payroll processing.
      • Understanding of CRM and Share Point to enable effective use as required by this role.
      • An in-depth knowledge of company financial policies and procedures together with experience of working remotely with different time zones.
      • Customer service skills.
