About the Role and the Team


Gloucester City Council has ambitious cultural plans and with investment from Arts Council England for Gloucester Guildhall as it joins the National Portfolio (NPO) there's never been a more exciting time to join the Culture team.

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Coordinator to join us for this next phase of our journey. The Technical Coordinator will play a leading role in the delivery of the artistic programme.

You will work closely with the Senior Producer, Production Lead and the Music and Comedy Programmer to ensure smooth delivery of all technical aspects of the programme.

You will work on both in-house and received shows and gigs, ensuring the highest artistic standards.

You will coordinate a team of freelance technicians to deliver and support the development of the Live Event Technical apprentice on a day-to-day basis.


You will predominantly be based working alongside the activity at Gloucester Guildhall, but your skills and knowledge will support technical needs at both the Museum of Gloucester and Blackfriars Priory.

You will also support the technical needs of the Guildhall Presents programme, a programme that take the Guildhall externally to locations across the city.


About You
You will have experience of lighting, sound, production engineering and AV.

You will be experienced in working at height and have sound knowledge of health and safety in a live event environment.


You will have experience in supervising others at varying levels and be able to lead, guide and support in relation to your role.

You will take a proactive approach in training your colleagues in basic day to day technical needs in delivering the cinema programme and corporate hires functions in addition to the live events programme.


You will have an eye for quality and detail in all areas of your role and will be confident to use your skills and knowledge to put forward improvements to the cultural venues.

This role sits inside the Visitor Experience Team.

This team covers The Museum of Gloucester, Gloucester Guildhall, Blackfriars Priory with the aim of supporting the wider cultural strategy for the city.

You will be on an annualised hours contract to meet the needs of the live events industry which will include regular evening and weekend working.
