If U Care Share Foundation (IUCSF) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Support Coordinator who will be part of a team offering support to individuals and families bereaved by suicide or at risk of suicide


Location - Based in Chester le Street but may require travel across the North East region and throughout the UK


Hours - 35 (Mon-Fri, 9-5)
Salary - £18,000-£22,000 per annum


Job Expectations:


  • Taking calls into the office telephone line and responding to general enquiries from the public and supported persons
  • Escalate Cause for Concern and or Safeguarding protocol if concerned for the safety or the wellbeing of supported persons
  • Engage with local support services, including mental health teams, crisis teams, GP surgeries, adult or children social care teams etc. and making referrals where required / appropriate
  • All administration and coordination of Support Officer diaries
  • All administration and coordination of follow up tasks in relation to supported persons
  • Administration and coordination of therapies (Trauma Therapy, Counselling and alternative therapies etc.) and therapists diaries
  • Monitor and update Supported person files
  • Greet supported persons / visitors to the office
  • Attend meetings and training as advised

Essential Criteria:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with admirable attention to detail
  • I.T. literate, with a firm understanding of MS Office
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the prevalence of suicide in society.
  • Uptodate DBS check.

Desirable Criteria

  • Completion of mental health training.
  • Experience and knowledge of working within mental health.
  • Experience of the effects of suicide.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract until 30th September 2024.
