Operations Technician - United Kingdom - Actalent

Description

The Operations Technician is responsible for providing site services to R&D teams including goods receiving, shipping and laboratory services.

This includes the receipt and distribution of incoming materials/purchased goods, organizing outgoing shipments to all UK and International destinations, and distributing chemicals/reagents to lab areas.

It also involves managing supplies of lab gases, liquid nitrogen, and dry ice. Additional responsibilities include collection of biohazard/solvent waste, regular equipment checks and distribution of daily post and catering deliveries.

The role also includes responsibility for conducting specific routine laboratory support functions such as media, solution and chemical preparation when required.

The candidate will have previous experience of working in a logistics or stores type role, ideally in a fast-paced pharmaceutical or biotech environment.

The role requires a high degree of communication with internal customers and a flexible attitude towards work as priorities change.

The Shipper/Receiver works closely with members of the wider Laboratory Services and International Operations Teams and will require no day-to-day supervision.
