    Group Leader - Summer Camp - Ware, Hertfordshire

    Hours: 08.30 – 17:30

    Salary Range: £412.00 – £559.17 per week, depending on experience and qualifications (2023 wage level for February Half Term Contracts, 2024 wage level applicable from April 1st)

    Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of children and young people, with all staff expected to uphold this commitment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A GROUP LEADER

    • Set up and maintain an engaging base room area for children, ensuring tidiness and proper equipment storage
    • Adhere to policies for a safe and enjoyable environment
    • Follow the daily activity timetable to deliver promised sessions
    • Collaborate with the staff team for session delivery
    • Supervise and engage with children throughout the day, including breaks
    • Plan and execute age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm
    • Encourage active participation and personalize activities based on children's interests
    • Ensure general welfare and safety
    • Safely utilize and store session equipment

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience or qualifications in working with children
    • Minimum age of 18 at contract start date
    • Eligibility to work in the UK
    • Positive, organized, and communicative with the ability to adapt
    • Ability to handle challenges in a childcare setting
    • Enhanced DBS check required
    • Participation in assessment and training events
    • Assist with camp setup and closure

    ADDITIONAL DUTIES

    • Ensure Health and Safety compliance
    • Organize appropriate activities based on qualifications
    • Promote children's participation in activities
    • Supervise children's behavior and whereabouts
    • Follow camp procedures and guidelines
    • Be a positive role model promoting healthy habits
    • Report child protection concerns
    • Accommodate children's needs and conditions
    • Skills Builder session delivery may be required
    • Support swimming sessions if needed
    • Adapt to changing job requirements
