We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical
client in Worthing, offering Laboratory
support working within an integrated
environment and with a well established
team.

Job Overview:

The Lab Support Assistant's role is to provide services to support the BPS laboratory functions at site.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Preparation of laboratory solutions ie media/Agar
  • Performance Qualification & Functionality Testing ie balances, pH meters, fume hoods
  • Glassware Management cleaning glassware and replenishing stores area
  • Sub Contractor management
  • Hosting "meet & greet" of visiting engineers to area,
  • Scheduling of subcontractors to area in accordance with schedule for PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) & RM (Reactive maintenance)
  • Review and support supply chain with contract renewals


  • Waste Management

  • Load/unload autoclave waste, solvent disposal


  • Administration

  • Ensuring asset schedule maintained and current, Completion of all learning and training tasks on time in full, Reporting of all EHS concerns, near misses and accidents to your line manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that tasks are completed according to the schedule and therefore have no negative impact on production.
  • Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
  • Ensure all laboratory solutions and samples are prepared or available daily.
  • Ensure scheduled equipment calibration and functionality testing is completed in line with the plan.
  • Flexibility to cover any activities that supports plant production
  • Maintaining 100% in MyLearning & Mitie Learning hub
