Description

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting to the position of Interim Director of Finance and Resources working for a charity organisation based in Torfaen.


Main duties:

  • Lead on all aspects of financial reporting in relation to the organisation's financial policies, budgets, and performance
  • Deliver monthly management accounting and reporting, alongside narrative to enable strategic business decisions to be made
  • Monitor financial performance and ensure effective compliance with all financial statutory requirements
  • Ensure control of income, cash flow and expenditure, develop cash flow forecasting and reporting
  • Develop key financial performance and outcome indicators, reporting on variances and implement appropriate contingency plans to ensure financial targets and KPIs are achieved
  • Responsible for leading on the annual external audit
  • Supporting the agreed internal audit work programme
  • Lead on all aspects of Strategic Risk Management
  • Deliver the monthly risk reporting and risk register
  • Develop the risk management strategy with the Board of Trustees
  • As Company Secretary ensure that the Trust ensures all of its legal obligations and operates within the Charity Commission code of Governance
  • Responsible for systems development and data management
  • Ensuring the Trust complies with GDPR requirements
  • Lead on the review and update of the financial regulations and standing orders
  • Lead on the delivery of new contracts for financial services
  • Oversee all aspects of HR until such time that a manager can be appointed
  • A key requirement of this role is to develop open and honest collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across the Local Authority, the community, and the regulatory bodies
  • Lead and deliver the Trusts charity's strategic and operational finances, lead on all aspect of risk and risk management, ensure the Trust operates within the Charity Commission Code of Governance and to oversee systems and data
  • You will work across the organisation and closely with the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees
  • You will work collaboratively and in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Line manages the Business admin team

Person specification:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA CIPFA)
  • Proven track record in senior finance roles, with evidence of successfully working at Board level
  • Skilled in working collaboratively and in partnership with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience and knowledge of good governance
  • Experience of risk management
