WHAT TO EXPECT
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Work with system and component areas to define and maintain cascaded target requirements in support of overall vehicle level targets
- Plan, manage and report all lighting preparation & test activities including PAT support, test engineer work, workshop support, RLD, STL, Rig & Virtual Tests
- Support the Vehicle Engineering management team to ensure all technical issues are identified, working with component engineers and suppliers as required, to drive resolution and implementation of solutions
- Report status as required for vehicle level performance assessments and validation against defined requirements and targets
- Support Core department Technical Specialists in defining and decomposing customer requirements into vehicle level engineering targets
- Support competitor Attribute benchmarking and futuring to develop lighting business strategy.
- Support delivery of all lighting Attribute Requirement targets by Gateway.
- Manage vehicle test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues
- Resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle system teams to develop features that meet customer targets
- Provide input into new feature development
- Ensure all programme feature offerings meet:
- Legal regulations and Requirements Management & Design Verification documentation
- Optical Quality and Premium Consumer Product Audit (PCPA) requirements
WHAT YOU NEED
- Strong understanding of interior & exterior lighting related customer expectations for premium saloons / SUVs
- Understanding of lighting principles with a knowledge of data collection and analysis
- Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence other departments and management
- Previous experience in Body Engineering / Exterior / Lighting Systems environment would be beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work unsociable hours to support vehicle testing during signoff periods
