£25,000 - £33,000 per annum


Contracted Hours:37.5 _per week_


Annual Leave:

Reporting to:
GENEX Associate Director / Managing Directors


Purpose of the Role:


  • The Principle responsibilities and reason for this position is to help GENEX deliver all services in connection with water management and legionella control to ensure that both GENEX and its clients are fully compliant with the current legislative requirements._

Duties:

The employee will be responsible for the effective management and implementation of the following water management and energy services:

  • To assist in the management of a team of engineers in the of clients water hygiene demands.
  • To organise and plan respective site works and plan site attendance for respective engineers
  • To provide technical advice and guidance to both team members and GENEX site operatives in relation to current legionella and water hygiene legislation.
  • Managing a team of engineers allocating workloads and assisting in technical supervision.
  • Providing Health and Safety advice and training to GENEX employees in connection with the provision of the respective services.
  • Providing Legionella awareness training to clients in line with GENEX training template.
  • Conducting risk assessments in accordance to ACOP L8 / HSG 274 and HTM 0401 guidelines.
  • To obtain/provide quotations / tenders for the small remedial / works.
  • Implementing effective control and management regimes for water services.
  • Undertaking clean and chlorination works of domestic water services and cooling towers.
  • Managing and supervising control of heating and chilled water closed system analysis.
  • Producing reports.
  • Populating and programming Records For Buildings.
  • Visiting corporate accounts and building / maintaining relationships with clients at all levels.
  • Specifying and project managing works in relation to legionella and water services remedial works.
  • Obtaining quotations and tenders for small and remedial works.
  • Maintaining and validating site records for required maintenance activities.
  • Complying with the requirements of the Legionella Control Association.
  • Coordinating and supervising in house and on site contractor site activities with other ongoing site activities

Skills/Experience:


Essential:

  • Must be computer literate and conversant with major software including, word processing and spreadsheet packages.
  • Good interpersonal communication, management and organisational skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of current legislation and guidance on the control of legionella bacteria and water quality is also required.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of current and future environmental legislation
  • Have thorough knowledge of HSEs ACOP L
  • Understand the requirements of the Legionella Control Association Membership.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.
  • A full UK driving license is essential to be considered for this position.
  • In depth knowledge and successful experience of dealing with corporate accounts and clients.
  • Able to exercise initiative and prioritise duties accordingly.
  • Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.
  • Good communication, management and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to work away from home during working week.

Desired:


  • Previous experience of chemical and biological water sampling, with an understanding of basic water chemistry
  • Have experience and knowledge to undertake and manage the operation of evaporative cooling towers
  • Experience and knowledge of evaluating water chemistry with cooling towers and closed systems
  • Experience and knowledge of carrying out closed systems water analysis and chemical treatment
  • Experience of working in a similar environment where reliance is placed upon individuals carrying responsibility for their actions.
  • An understanding of the role of support services with experience of working in an environment in support of the main Business Function
  • Asbestos Awareness training
  • Confined space working training.
  • Ability to use CAD format software (eg.
Visio) to produce legionella schematics.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Qualifications:

Essential (Training will be provided by GENEX under Training loan programme):

  • Employees will have successfully attended a recognised training course such as City and Guilds BS1,2,3 or 4; WMS risk assessment or equivalent.

Desired:


  • Successful attendance and achievement of a recognised training course such as City and Guilds on Evaporative Cooling Tower Operation / Management / Risk Assessment.
  • CSCS card or equivalent.
