Catalent are currently recruiting for a Commercial Operations Manager to join the Swindon manufacturing site.

The Commercial Operations manager will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Operations team by providing commercial management of existing customer products and representing Site Operations business interests during new customer onboarding.

The position holder will partner with Business Development, Project Management and Site Operations teams to successfully deliver solutions for Catalent's customers and drive value for the respective Site and Business Unit assets and capabilities.


The Role:
Evaluate customer's products using a Portfolio Management approach to provide long-term view of demand and life cycle analysis

Partner with Business Development, Supply Chain and Project Management as the primary customer-facing team, establishing project governance and effective communication between the customer and Catalent's Operations teams and senior Management.

In cooperation with the Business Development, Legal and Commercial Director (Comm Ops team), serves as key member of the negotiation team during preparation and negotiation of contract amendments/renewals for targeted customers
Lead the process for extension/renewal of existing commercial supply agreements.

Monitor and report on business and contract related aspects during the commercial life span of products to ensure customers adhere to agreed terms such as forecasting, purchase order placement, on-time payment, minimum quantities, royalties, milestone payments and other fees and terms as applicable (in concert with Contract Managers).

Collaborate with the Technical Evaluation and Proposals team providing appropriate oversight in preparation/pricing of proposals for new business and follow on work for current products with existing customers.

Works with Clients to qualify second source materials and backup sites as agreed for risk mitigation purposes along with proposals to Client for additional services such as packaging, stability, analytical where needed.

Provide support to BD team members on strategy/negotiation of proposals as needed.
Work with Site Operations and Finance teams to routinely evaluate cost vs price models and discuss opportunities for improvements.
Collaborate with Business Development to continually improve the overall customer relationship and identify further opportunities within their product portfolios.

Monitors supply chain and plant situations that could cause needed product price adjustments such as excipient price increases, changes in batch sizes or equipment trains, or client requested changes in testing and/or processes.

Plan and host Client meetings on site as needed.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or equivalent experience
Relevant experience working within pharmaceutical, Aerospace, medical device or food manufacturing, quality, technical project management, business management and/or business development
Relevant industry knowledge of drug product development and/or consumer product development, analytical research and development, project scale-up, product manufacturing, quality, validations, and regulatory
Analytical, financial skills, business acumen
Superior customer services skills and professional demeanor
Prior direct contract negotiation experience preferred
