    Our client is an exciting, growing challenger bank. They have offices across the UK, with an experienced team who look to provide a hands on, personal service whilst also utilising technology to drive efficiencies. Due to their continued growth we now have a number of Credit Underwriting opportunities within their Property Finance team in Manchester.

    As a Credit Underwriter, you will make key decisions on new and existing funding requirements on their range of property lending products. You will be responsible for assessing, underwriting and approving Property Finance deals as well as the occasional prospective client visit to add expertise on more complex cases. Deals can range from £500K up to £10M.

This role offers hybrid working, with 3 days working from their Manchester City Centre office.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate and analyse credit paper submissions for both new and existing customers
    • Approving deals within delegated authority and providing recommendations if above
    • Ensure that new and existing funding's are granted in line with the risk appetite of the Bank
    • Occasional new business visit on more complex cases
    • The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
    • To provide ongoing feedback to all colleagues to improve the overall quality of new lending submissions
    • Complete extensive due diligence on loan applications adopting a host of credit assessment skills to recommend the basis on which risk is taken

    Experience:

    • 4+ years within credit underwriting within the banking/commercial real estate/property finance markets
    • Commercial attitude
    • Experience of managing key internal and external relationships
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to strict deadlines
