The Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Local Maternity and Neonatal System Programme Management Office is hosted by Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and works across a multi-organisational partnership that covers the whole of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The LMNS brings together providers involved with maternity and neonatal care, working in partnership to ensure services are person-centred, safe and of high quality for families across the system.


This is an exciting opportunity to support system transformation at a time of continued challenge for our partners and system.

The role will be responsible for supporting system transformation in line with national guidance.

This role will support the Local Maternity & Neonatal System programme to meet its objectives and deliver safe, personalised care to women and families.

The post holder will lead on key project workstreams and provide programme administration.


This role will require working collaboratively with partners including clinicians, service users, service providers, public health, and local authorities to inform the redesign and commissioning of appropriate local (community and acute) services.


  • Work with key stakeholders to design, plan, manage and deliver the project on time and to agreed goals, objectives, resources, milestones, and measures of success which deliver significant and sustained change/service transformation.
  • Develop and maintain key reporting documents and project documentation including (but not limited to) project plans, issue logs and risk registers and escalate issues and risks as appropriate.
  • Champion the interests of patients and their carers especially in relation to care, support and decisionmaking.
  • Assist the team in ensuring that regular workstream meetings are in place, including managing invite lists and booking of rooms/venues.
  • Maintain data to ensure that accurate records are kept, and accurate reporting is made.
  • Support the team with the management of a range of projects, gathering information and undertaking enquires as and when is necessary for work stream leads and the Transformation Programme and Project Managers.
  • Provide administrative support including minute taking at key meetings and forums where required.
  • Act as a first point of contact and reference for the team in relation to queries and information dealing with and responding effectively to queries from stakeholders and passing on relevant information to appropriate colleagues and organisations
  • Develop positive relationships with colleagues to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects.


The postholder will be based within the Quality, Transformation and Oversight Directorate within the Local Maternity and Neonatal System Programme Management Office (LMNS PMO).

The LMNS PMO is a small team that works in a matrix model with key teams across the ICS partnership.

The postholder will need to be a strong communicator, be flexible and be able to work at pace.

Previous Experience:


  • Experience of supporting projects to agreed outcomes, targets and timescale either within or outside the NHS
  • Experience of multiagency / crosssector partnership working
  • Administrative/ secretarial experience including initiating and maintaining office systems.
  • Experience of minute taking and administering meetings and groups

Knowledge/Skills/Aptitudes:


  • A good understanding of the Local Maternity & Neonatal System Programme (desirable)
  • Project management or transferable skills to produce high quality project plans, local delivery plans and reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and manage change and engage and support people through transitions
  • Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills: capable of constructing and delivering clear information/ instructions to staff and service users
  • IT skills and proficient in use of software packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and the workloads of others to changing and often tight deadlines
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Experience in dealing with the public and dealing with sensitive and confidential information
