    Scope

    Houlihan Lokey's Augmented Coverage & Execution team, is an innovative group that assists Bankers in revenue generation activities. Our Sector Mapping team analyses companies and markets globally, leveraging large datasets and providing insights into market opportunities. We identify top-tier businesses to assist deal teams with their active projects.

    We are seeking a Sector Analyst to join our team in Manchester. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven candidate with an interest in finance, looking to develop a broad understanding of a range of sectors, including technology, financial services, industrials, consumer & retail, business services and healthcare.

    Responsibilities

    As a Sector Analyst, you will:-
    • Perform tailored research work (e.g., Buyer and Target lists) across different sectors and geographies presenting clear rationale, particularly for pitches, meetings and other M&A processes,
    • Analyse and research background materials and reports,
    • Support on the generation of Sector Maps, or other representations or visualizations of various sectors within a particular industry, economy, or market,
    • Help develop and liaise with outsourced teams across multiple geographies,
    • Build, maintain and review company lists and Firm taxonomy within the CRM for Sector Mapping purposes,
    • Manage CRM design & data entry processes, for Sector Mapping purposes,
    • Support on strategic projects / initiatives,
    • Assist in building of reporting dashboards and workflow tools internally, across teams and for the wider Firm,
    • Support process and efficiency improvement initiatives.
    Basic Qualifications/Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have:-
    • Bachelor's Degree (BA / BS),
    • Proven ability to research, organize and present complex ideas
    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
    • Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills,
    • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team,
    • First-class literacy, numeracy and organizational skills,
    • A keen commercial sense, and a broad general knowledge and interest in current affairs.
    Preferred Qualifications/Requirements
    • Experience in research, ideally in a business-to-business environment (financial / market research),
    • Experience of using CRM systems,
    • Experience with or interest in SQL, Sigma or Tableau (or any other data & analytics tools e.g. PowerBI) an advantage,
    • Additional language skills an advantage.
