Castle Combe Circuit has been welcoming fans of racing, car shows and a variety of other events for over 70 years.

Based in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, we provide easy access to anyone in the South-West but also welcome a broad range of visitors fromacross the UK.


As a circuit we promote car and motorbike racing and even cycling events as well as action days; however, our range of events does not stop there.

Our team co-ordinate a host of other events ranging from car boot sales to Steam Rallies and other fun experiences.


The last few years have seen many changes in the motor, events and hospitality industries, and Castle Combe Circuit wants to embrace these changes.

Castle Combe is currently reshaping the way we work with the exciting brand and commercial development witha focused future vision plan for the circuit.

Therefore, to take us forward, we have an exciting opportunity for an Events Manager to join us and help lead the business into the future.


The role


The Event Manager will be responsible for the planning and managing of numerous unforgettable events throughout the year that are remembered for all the right reasons.

You will be tasked with ensuring that each of our events run smoothly from start to finish.

Responsibilities will include coming up with ideas through to managing all aspects of event planning, coordinating deadlines and managing budgets and making it happen.

In addition you will be responsible for a small team of Event Co-ordinators.


Core duties

  • Work as part of a team to plan a yearly calendar of events.
  • Work as part of a team to come up with new ideas and ways of continuously improving well established events.
  • Leading and managing a small team of event coordinators.
  • Project manage all aspects of an event including facilitating logistics, coordinating deadlines and managing budgets.
  • Work closely with the marketing and sales team to agree and implement marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with the catering team to coordinate catering requirements.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to coordinate signage, clean up tasks etc.
  • Work closely with the health & safety and security team to ensure each event is compliant.
  • Be present on the day to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, sponsors etc.
  • Anticipate issues and put in place contingency plans.
  • A portfolio of successful outdoor events.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and problemsolve without losing customer service focus.
  • Excellent organisation and negotiation skills.
  • Enjoys working and talking with people.
  • Experience of working with colleagues in marketing, catering and logistics.
  • Managing a small team of people.
  • Committed to compliance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification (degree or diploma) in event management.
  • Project management

Working hours
We operate 7 days with the majority of our events taking place over Spring, Summer and Autumn.

You will be expected to work an average of 5 days a week and this will include some weekend working.

Once we have agreed the event schedule for the year you willbe notified of the hours and days you are required to work.

Some weeks you will be required to work additional hours in any week according to the needs of the event.
