London Borough of Croydon Archives are thrilled to announce that our bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund's Dynamic Collections campaign was successful.

Our project, #DYC Digitally Transforming Croydon Archives / London Borough of Culture Legacy, will run from November December 2025 and we will be recruiting three exciting new roles to help deliver it.


We are seeking a creative and highly organised Project Engagement Officer to co-ordinate the creation, development and delivery of the Dynamic Collections Project engagement programme in collaboration with 10 participating young people.

The engagement programme should maximise participation and increase accessibility, engagement and representation in the Archive from historically under-engaged/represented communities, particularly people from black, black British, Caribbean or African backgrounds and young people.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in an Accredited Archive Service and would particularly suit those with both experience in facilitating young people (age to devise and deliver a project, and ideally experience working in a heritage or archive setting.


Main duties:

  • Recruit 10 young archivists, including one Young Producers work experience student, to the programme
  • Plan and deliver workshops for the Young Archivists, codevising and codelivering an engagement programme, utilising the new London Borough of Culture archive as a springboard. This could include a social media campaign, online and physical exhibitions, an open day event, making improvements to the Research Room, developing an access/collections development manifesto and more
  • Upskill the Young Archivists to deliver the engagement programme, organising guest speakers
  • Support with the evaluation of the project
Fixed term 0.6FTE (3 days per week, 21.6 hours per week)
