  • Job Description
  • Responsibility for the accurate and timely reporting of cash transactions, dividend and capital transactions, intercompany balances, operating costs, month end journals and other adhoc journal entries in respect of London Corporate entities.
  • Responsible for ensuring correct accounting for the Technical & Sustainability entities, including liaison with Finance teams in Chile and Australia, as well as overview of various other small branches and permanent establishments.
  • Coordination with other Corporate functions, including London Treasury and Group Tax, to ensure the financial reporting implications for London Corporate transactions are accounted for on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the accounting of the Group's selfinsurance entities through coordination with external service providers in Bermuda and Ireland and the Group Insurance function and calculation of Group overlays.
  • Responsible for the finalisation of statutory accounts and managing the relationship with the shared service centre who prepare the draft accounts. Responsible for managing the overall statutory account preparation process and ensuring that appropriate reviews are undertaken by Finance, Tax and Company Secretarial and that the accounts are signed on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the Anglo American plc parent company only accounts.
  • Coordination with external auditors during the audit of the statutory financial statements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the correct accounting of sharebased payments in the Group through managing the calculation of the IFRS 2 charge with EY and Company Secretarial. Responsible for the communication of required accounting entries to the Business Units and first contact with PwC during the interim and year end audit.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission to HFM of financial data of designated entities and the overall Coromin, OMI and Loma structures for actuals, budgets and outlooks.
  • Preparation of management accounts, ad hoc reporting data requests and production of ad hoc accounting papers as may be required.
  • Oversee operation and documentation of financial controls across the Corporate North processes to ensure an effective control environment and compliance with regulatory and groupwide obligations.
  • Undertake the role of Super User on systems such as SAP, Blackline, HFM, etc and assist the business and others regarding queries on these systems.
  • Qualifications


  • Qualified accountant

  • ACA or equivalent
  • Degree in a relevant discipline

Technical Knowledge:


  • Commercial and technical accounting issues and good knowledge of accounting standards
  • Working knowledge of financial systems
  • SAP, HFM-Hyperion and FDMEE an advantage.
  • Preparation or review of UK financial accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team to deliver against set targets.
  • Strong proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and excellent computer literacy.
