We are working exclusively with a well-known, leading UK Trade Association who are seeking a PR Manager on a permanent basis.


You, as the successful applicant, will help manage the press office to promote the associations objectives, raise their media profile and enhance the reputation of the sector.


PACKAGE
This opportunity will pay between £40,000 and £50,000 per annum.

You'll be working for a company based in the heart of London, but the role can be performed on a remote basis with travel into the office one day a week (more if desired).

The company havea great pension scheme where the employer pays up to 15%.

There is also a discretionary bonus of up to 10%, as well as death in service and group income protection scheme cover.

Annual leave of 30 days which includes an obligatory 3 off during the Christmasbreak. Hours Monday to Friday.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will help to ensure that national journalists continue to recognise the organisation as the voice of the industry.
  • You will bring creative ideas that help secure highquality print and broadcast media coverage that cements the associations reputation as an authoritative commentator.
  • Working with colleagues across policy teams, you will ensure the associations voice is heard and that their views are well understood and influential.
  • You will be responsible for the daytoday activity of a highly professional press office which positions the association as the essential place to come for industry specific commentary. This will include providing and managing wellrun onsite press officesat our major conferences.
  • You will manage editorial commitments, writing high quality articles intended for senior level professionals, policymakers and related stakeholders.
  • You will deliver an integrated social media strategy that utilises employee social media profiles to make the most of the associations owned channels.
  • You will help provide advice to senior staff and the Board on reputational issues and messaging, both informally and in presentations at regular meetings.
  • You will ensure a flow of compelling and authoritative press releases, comment and articles covering:
  • The Association's policy and advocacy work
  • The wider operational and commercial activities of the Association including conferences
  • Researchbased PR
  • Material that helps UK consumers with their finances
  • You will help develop and maintain clear processes and planning for capturing and disseminating media intelligence including the provision of regular reports to the Head of Media Relations.
  • You will develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with key print, digital and broadcast journalists across the consumer, personal finance, business and pensions media at national and specialist trade press level.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 23 years' experience working as a PR professional, journalist or related field.
  • A background in the Financial Services sector, with Pensions being beneficial
  • Experience advising politicians within local government also beneficial
  • A very high standard of written communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and executives both within and outside your organisation.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
