babylon newsroom is a media organization started by a handful of LSE Media & Communication graduates, that aims to challenge media hegemony and foster equal representation in the digital age. We strive to bring well-researched, engaging content to our audience, produced by young, committed writers who are deeply concerned with the issues they tackle. We rebel against the lack of opportunities available to students and graduates encounter when applying for a career in journalism. At babylon newsroom, we believe in an inclusive future for media. We believe in providing a counter-hegemonic forum led by young actors. We believe in telling our own stories, through our own voices.
Role Description
This is a freelance remote role for a Contributor at babylon newsroom. The Contributor will be responsible for producing well-researched and engaging content on various topics. We will never ask for more than one piece of content a month. You will report to a carefully assigned editor, though this is mainly for coordination purposes. Your tasks will include conducting research, producing articles, fact-checking, and collaborating with editors and other team members to deliver quality content.
Please note: Whilst the lion's share of our content is written, we are always open to alternate media forms. So podcasters, broadcast journalists, town criers, do apply
