Are you keen to be part of a large and friendly dietetic team? We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and confident individual to join us as a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner.
As a result of new funding, this role is now being advertised as a full-time position. Approximately 2.5 days per week, the post holder will specifically support the new and expanding Paediatric Proton beam service.In the remaining 2.5 days per week, the post holder will support other members of our clinical teams based on the 3rdFloor East Wing at 250 Euston Road.
The role will include direct contact with patients, liaising with dietetic and multidisciplinary teams within UCLH, at other hospitals and in the community, facilitating the care of patients coming to UCLH for treatment and the discharge of patients from hospital and managing stock of specialist nutrition products.
You should have the ability to work well within teams, be able to manage your time effectively, and have excellent communication skills.
To work as part of the dietetic team with supervision from a senior specialist dietitian, supporting the dietitians in the delivery of patients' nutrition care in the in and outpatient setting.
To undertake nutritional assessments for follow ups, provide dietary advice for specific groups of patients/ clients and be involved in the monitoring of patients on nutritional support.
To be responsible for an oral nutrition support in and / or outpatient caseload with supervision from a senior specialist dietitian.
To maintain close communication with the dietitians and work within an extended scope practice where appropriate eg, gastrostomy service.
