As we continue to grow through 2023, OCU Group we are continuing with our sustained growth in all areas of our business.

Due to this, we now have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join our team based out of our Stockport Head Office.


The purpose of the role will be to assist the Payroll Manager in providing a professional and efficient payroll service and ensuring payments are accurate and on time.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Processing starters and leavers, ensuring all statutory deductions and thirdparty payments are made.
  • Processing and updating company T&A systems.
  • Process payroll for all staff using Payrite and Sage systems.
  • Distribution of correspondence to employees (Pay slips, P11d's, P60's).
  • Ensure compliance in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Compile monthly and yearly reports.
  • Assist with reconciliation of expenses.

Skills and Experience:


  • Previous experience in a payroll related role.
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and software.
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational skills, and ability to work to deadlines.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Selfmotivated, and able to work on own initiative; enthusiastic with 'can do' attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook essential).
