    HR Officer

    Hours of Work: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-4pm

    Uttoxeter

    Salary: Up to £35,000

    Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the HR Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive HR services and guidance to both managers and individual employees within our organisation. This includes overseeing HR functions across both manufacturing and office-based departments. Key responsibilities will encompass recruitment, policy implementation and guidance, employee relations, and payroll management.

    The main responsibilities of the HR Officer are:

    • Oversee the complete monthly payroll process for all employees, collaborating closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate accounting of variable pay.
    • Maintain and update employee records and HR-related systems, including time and attendance tracking, HR databases, and payroll systems
    • Provide guidance and support to managers on various employee issues, including performance management, attendance monitoring, and disciplinary matters.
    • Continuously review and enhance the employee incentive and benefit package to ensure competitiveness and alignment with company goals.
    • Manage employee disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
    • Lead recruitment efforts across all areas of the business, from creating job descriptions in collaboration with management to sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
    • Conduct training sessions for both management and employees on the use of new systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Assist managers in conducting return-to-work and appraisal meetings, providing support and guidance as needed.
    • Stay updated on the latest employment regulations and ensure company compliance with all relevant laws and standards.

    The ideal candidate:

    • Demonstrated previous HR knowledge and experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment, providing a solid foundation for handling various HR functions.
    • Possess exceptional organisational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and responsibilities within a fast-paced HR environment.
    • Exhibit a confident, logical, and level-headed approach to HR management, enabling effective decision-making and problem-solving.
    • Proven ability to understand and develop strategies to enhance employee job satisfaction, fostering a positive work environment.
    • Confidently manage conflict situations, employing tact, diplomacy, and effective communication to resolve issues and maintain positive employee relations.
    • Demonstrate perceptiveness and good judgment in assessing situations and making informed HR-related decisions.
    • Proficient in payroll processes and software, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and benefits.
    • Possess a CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a strong theoretical understanding of HR principles and practices.
