Role purpose


Reporting directly to the CMO and leading a team of six, the Head of Digital Media and Social role is a key member of the global marketing leadership team and works closely with the Creative, CRM and Product Leads to deliver the global ambition for Aesop.

Responsible for the creation and development of the Digital Media and Social strategy globally, the role works with regional marketing teams to enable Aesop to secure and manage local market audiences whilst delivering outstanding campaigns on a global level.


The role will be tasked with meeting trading objectives, whilst continuously developing and driving tailored initiatives through our digital and social channels to increase customer engagement, enhance brand propositioning and drive ROI.

Role responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Develop and execute media and social strategies that align with the business goals and objectives
  • Define the annual Media strategy including the management of the advertising budgets for both Brand and Performance Media channels
  • Oversee the management of all PPC, Paid Social, Programmatic and Affiliates channels globally, setting agency/team objectives to deliver annual growth and maintain positioning
  • Collaborate with Digital Commerce and Retail teams to develop new tactical marketing initiatives to support ecommerce performance. Drive greater ROI and traffic from existing tactical digital activities.
  • Ensure Organic Social media planning is cohesive and aligns to brand goals across all platforms including Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, Line, Kakao, Red, etc
  • Managing Media Partnerships and Brand activations that can grow brand and category awareness in a unique way
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (including Product, creative and regional teams) to ensure campaigns are integrated across channels and touchpoints
  • Build and maintain relationships with media and social partners, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships
  • Work with individual team members to set clear objectives and help them progress their performance and roles, identifying potential career paths and future role development opportunities.
  • Understands and interprets the customer perceptions and positioning of the Aesop brand through market data and competitive intelligence to ensure continued connection with core customer.
  • Identifies challenges and opportunities across the Aesop customer framework and is able to develop strategies and communications to meet the requirement.
  • Identifies and develops any tactical opportunities and leads regional projects with direction from the global creative team.
  • Collaborates and provide leadership to the region to arrange customer experience approach based on global and regional goals and priorities.
  • Promotes change and creative improvement and adapting effectively to new approaches.
  • Works closely with the analytical teams to ensure a data driven approach; including testing strategies to optimise approaches per channel per market.
This is a full time position operating with a hybrid working pattern.
