    NRL are pleased to be working alongside a world class provider of subsea technologies and services to recruit for a Project Manager based in their facility in Hartlepool.

    With a further facility in Blyth currently in construction, our client's goal is to support the delivery of the energy shift system needed for governments and society to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

    The role of Project Manager is responsible for the management and execution of the Renewables and Energy projects and requires liaison with all appropriate departments to facilitate this.

    The position is responsible for the planning and execution of design, procurement, manufacturing and testing activities, delivery of project documentation for customer review and delivery of the finished product and related documentation package within the agreed timeframe.

    In addition, the post is responsible for ensuring the project revenue and invoicing requirements are achieved, the project is delivered on time and within the expected budgetary costs, and the respective margins are maintained or improved upon.

    Commercial leadership for the project and direct liaison with customers is a key part of the role, including the management of variation orders, opportunities for variation orders and any other commercial changes.

    The job holder will be a key interface between the Customer and Operations teams and performs a key role in the identification and management of risks, the adherence to corporate policies, procedures and practice, and in the achievement of commercial objectives.

    Acquire in depth knowledge of project contract scope and delivery requirements to ensure the project revenue and invoicing requirements are achieved on time, within budgetary cost and in accordance with the customer and contract requirements.

    Organise, plan and manage projects including management of project costs and preparation of internal and external reports, liaising with all appropriate departments to facilitate this.

    Ensuring the timely delivery of customer deliverables and management of relationships with customer project teams.
    Take full leadership of all project contractual and commercial matters, liaising with Legal and Contracts department as required.
    Identifying and assessing commercial and contractual risks, managing the projects to protect the company's financial and technical exposure.
    Management and development of project technical and commercial risk strategy including management of the project Risk Register.
    Manage and delegate work to relevant project functions accordingly.

    Facilitate the administration and production processes, where applicable, in order to ensure effective dovetailing between departments, maintaining contract files, orderly and chronologically.

    Raise relevant reports and documentation including reporting on project costs, margins, revenue projections and VO status and opportunities.
    Line management of direct reports and other employees assigned to their team to ensure project requirements are met.

    Reporting of Project Performance KPIs to the Project Management Lead – Renewables / Project Management Lead – Energy / Senior Project Manager including raising relevant reports, documentation and reporting on project costs, margins, revenue projections and VO status and opportunities.

    Formulating contingency plans if problems arise and presenting to the Project Management Lead – Renewables / Project Management Lead – Energy / Senior Project Manager for discussion and action, liaising fully at all times.

    Support Tendering process pre-order as required by Project Management Lead – Renewables / Project Management Lead – Energy / Senior Projects Manager / Senior Project Manager and Tendering team.

    Liaison with Service department to ensure continuity between the "supply" contract and "service" contracts is maintained with our customers.

    Assist with continuous improvement and development of process, systems and procedures enabling project management operations at all times.
    Deputise for other Project team members as and when required.

    To comply with all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and procedures established by the company's policies and in accordance with the requirements of relevant legislation and any regulatory bodies at all times.

    To have read, understood and comply with the company Health and Safety manual, policies and procedures and to implement these, at all times, to ensure both your own safety and the safety of those who may be affected by your actions or omissions.

    The holder of this role will have experience within a similar role and be capable of handling all technical, commercial and contractual aspects of individual projects, as well as dealing with customers.

    The holder must be able to profitably run the commercial aspects of a business, monitoring and forecasting the financial results and advising the business accordingly.

    The role has a significant influence on the company's financial performance.

    Good administrative skills are needed and the holder must be computer literate with knowledge of current software packages such as Microsoft Office.

    The holder will possess excellent communication skills, together with the ability to work calmly under pressure, management of multiple and complex projects and other work to meet tight deadlines; Commercial and delivery focussed with a drive for achievement.

    Good time-management skills and able to prioritise work to ensure all the project requirements are met on time.
    Proven background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering within the Offshore O&G / Renewables industry.
    Must be very fluent with Microsoft word and excel packages and have good report writing skills.

    Knowledge of offshore installation of cable/umbilical products and systems is an advantage.

    Minimum HNC mechanical or electrical engineering.
    A recognised qualification in Project Management (eg: APM, PRINCE2, etc) would be an advantage.
