    I have partnered with a large organisation within the energy sector who is looking to bring in a interim Operational Readiness Lead for 12 months to help support on a long term critical project.

    Please note the candidate will be expected to work 2 days a week onsite in London

    REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

    This role will initially focus on the scoping, planning and co-ordination of business readiness for the Programme s go live and the preceding end-to-end Operational Testing phase. Key requirements if the role are as follows:

    End-to-End Operational Testing

    • Co-ordinate the planning, execution, and evaluation of end-to-end operational testing activities within the programme.
    • Working closely with the Test Manager within the Programme as well as Product Owners and Business SMEs to define test scope and objectives, acceptance and entry/exit criteria, create test plans and scenarios, identify and manage operational test resources, co-ordinate testing activities, analyse results, and report test outcomes.
    • Work closely with stakeholders, such as the business leadership team, SMEs, end users, business analysts, and product owners, to ensure that the software meets the business requirements and supports to-be business processes/standards from the end user's perspective.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritise testing efforts and impact assess any identified defects against pre defined business acceptance criteria.
    • Additionally, the operational test lead may provide training and support to users before or during the testing process and ensure that any issues identified are appropriately documented and addressed ahead of test exit governance meetings.

    Business Readiness

    • Support the Business Change Lead in establishing a business readiness framework and approach.
    • Work closely with the Business Change Team to define end-to-end business readiness requirements.
    • Support the design of the Post Go Live Support/Hypercare framework with focus on support of the clients business functions, including external customer support.
    • Provide guidance and quality assurance for business readiness activities carried out by the change network and SMEs within the business.
    • Identify, manage and maintain readiness change risks and issues including where they may have impacts wider than on the project, and accurately report the status of project activities to the Business Change Lead.
    • Challenge Leads (ie product owners or project managers) on Business Readiness needs.
    • Work collaboratively and effectively with third party suppliers.
    • Support the Business Change Lead by recommending business readiness delivery approaches in line with budgets.
    • Contribute to business readiness go/no go decision making.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Has 3+ years experience working in business change roles with deep knowledge of Business Change disciplines (particularly training, communication and engagement, business readiness).
    • Has experience of more than one project and understands the typical project lifecycle.
    • Not essential, but desirable would be practitioner level Business Change or Project Management qualification.
    • Has 3+ years experience of delivering changes where business process change & implementation and business readiness planning and delivery have featured heavily in the scope and outcomes.
    • Experience within the energy or utilities sector is preferred
