    About the Role Southend Medical Centre has an exciting new opportunity, we are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Junior Nurse on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave starting to:
  • work under the guidance and support of our Registered Practice Nurse, facilitate clinical care in a holistic and proactive manner to patients registered at the practice.
  • maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols, policies and guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team. It is essential that the nurse works within their own level of competency and own scope of practice.
  • Fixed term contract – We would be happy to discuss employment possibilities at the end of the fixed term contract.

    Shift pattern: Monday, Thursday and Friday. Preferred hours and hours x 3 = Hours negotiable for right candidate

    The vacancy would suit a newly qualified junior nurse at the beginning of their nursing career who wants to establish their role in general practice, or alternately an experienced practice nurse that would like to reduce pressure and workload for a more work life, home life balance by stepping back into a lighter role.

    About the Candidate
  • Essential skills and qualifications include, a Foundation degree as a Registered Nurse, NMC Registration, experience of working in a primary care, competent in cervical screening, childhood immunisations, vaccines, staple and suture removal, basic wound care and experience in SystmOne.
  • Desirable qualifications include, Asthma, COPD, Stop Smoking, Contraception and Complex Wound Care.
